BODY
ALIGNMENT IN TRADITIONAL KARATE DO
by Nelson

In this article I would like to emphasise
the important role of our posture during the training.
The body in the majority of techniques
should be aligned 90 from the floor. The posture is basic to produce impact
(todome wasa), this principle has to be a base for all postures, there are some
exceptions where the body is not placed in this alignment.
In this position the Tandem (low stomach)
and kami Tandem (center of the front between eyes) are connected. This is a
very important connection who alouds the body and mind to be in a really
Sanshin attitude.
For this reason the practitioner should
understand and practice day by day the alignment of the body. Step by step
following these directions the performance
will increase a lot.
The Traditional Karate Do Institute will
create a tool by the net to communicate where we could give some instructions
how to improve in our self training.
